Stop Bullying

Unfortunately, the topic of bullying is relevant today. Therefore, an online lecture was held for ISTU students by Iryna Polat, a practicing lawyer with more than 10 years of practice in the field of law. For the past 3 years, Iryna has been engaged in advocacy, protecting the rights and interests of citizens, in particular, and children in cases related to the protection of their violated rights, including about bullying.

Iryna Polat is a member of the Lawyers' Initiative "Stop Bullying", which was created by lawyers who care about your future. The goal of the "StopBuling" advocacy initiative is the cooperation of lawyers in cases where there are signs of bullying, as well as increasing the legal awareness of citizens on issues of bullying.

During the lecture, students learned about:

  • What is bullying and what it can be;
  • What is cyberbullying and about safety rules on the Internet;
  • What responsibility does a person bear for committing bullying?
  • Consequences of bullying;
  • What to do if you have witnessed bullying or if a case of bullying has happened to you.

Iryna also said that in case of bullying, you should NEVER be silent about it or be afraid to tell someone about it. After all, bullying never stops on its own and the victim must be helped by teachers, parents, a psychologist, the police and witnesses.

In addition, Iryna told and showed the students how to find the advocacy initiative "Stop Bullying" on social networks.

If you have had an incident of bullying at ISTU or you have accidentally witnessed bullying, please do not remain silent! Or contact the administration, or write to the trust mailbox or fill out the feedback form.
