Academician Yury Bugai International Scientific and Technical University is holding a series of open lectures by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of Science at Abto Software, professor and teacher of our university Oleksandr Makoveychuk.

The lectures will take place from January 30 to February 1 and will be held in the format of online meetings. The topic will be of particular interest to students of the 3rd and 4th years of the "Computer Science" and "Software Engineering" specialties. 

The lecturer will dwell in detail on the following topics:

  • Features of image processing

o In particular, such aspects as "Fourier series"; "Discrete Fourier transform" (DFT); "Gauss filter"; "Sobel filter"; "Morphological transformations"; "Expansion"; "Erosion"; "Extending shades of gray"; "Example of a cylinder"; "Template Matching" and much more.

  • Structure of functions;

o Consider the question "Detecting angles"; "Scale-invariant feature transformation" (SIFT); "Function detection"; "Image of the destination"; "Split puzzles" and others.

It should be noted that Oleksandr Makoveychuk is Head of Science at Abto Software, PhD. The institution's activity cluster is the creation of software solutions for leaders in the spheres of telecommunications, energy, transport, medicine, construction and state institutions. He has been working in the R&D field of computer vision for more than 15 years and has a long teaching experience.
