USPP President Anatoliy Kinakh and university rector Veronika Khudoley signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The parties noted that the system of higher education in Ukraine needs constant improvement and orientation towards cooperation with employers, business, government institutions, structured civil society. In particular, the issues of the demand in Ukraine for qualified specialists after completing their studies, the relationship between education and the labor market, etc., are relevant.

The day before, USPP became a partner of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences and one of the initiators of the creation of the Ukrainian Research Social Consortium. The latter is a platform for horizontal communications and joint work of a number of domestic universities that are part of it - Kyiv National University, Ternopil Pedagogical University, Cherkasy National University, Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic, Zhytomyr, Sumy State Universities, Ostroh Academy and many others. In total, 20 domestic institutions of higher education and 4 organizations joined the Consortium.

"Employers and entrepreneurs see the development of the national labor market and human potential as one of the priority areas of their work. Currently, the pace of labor migration (5-7 million workers abroad) and unemployment in Ukraine itself (1,8 million) create huge imbalances. We are advocating for the improvement of the quality of vocational education, as well as broad cooperation between higher education institutions and manufacturers," Anatoly Kinakh stressed.

Head of ISTU Veronika Khudolya agrees with this. She noted that the university is definitely interested in deepening contacts with employers.

"Active development of entrepreneurship in Ukraine, study of management experience of European countries, constant and effective connection of science, education and the real sector of the economy are needed," she stressed.

The memorandum will soon be supplemented by a joint action plan for 2021.
