Ukraine celebrates the Day of the National Anthem of Ukraine

inMar 10, 2024

Today, March 10, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the National Anthem of Ukraine. A day full of pride and dedication.

The national anthem of Ukraine is a symbol of national unity, wisdom and strength of our people. Each of us, regardless of religion, ideals or cultural characteristics, together feel the power of his words and melodies, which sound like the voice of Ukraine itself.

On March 6, 2003 - this distant date, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law of Ukraine "On the National Anthem of Ukraine". The law approves the national anthem "Ukraine is not dead yet" with words by Pavel Chubynskyi and music by Mykhailo Verbytskyi as the National Anthem.

For the first time, the future anthem was performed publicly on March 10, 1865 in Przemyśli as the final concert number of the first secular "evenings in memory of Taras" in Galicia.

Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Oleksandr Shtokvysh interestingly noted in the material for the 200th anniversary of Mykhailo Verbytskyi that the words "Ukraine is not dead yet" were created in Dnieper Ukraine, and the anthem song - from Galicia, uniting our great country in a common work of great national importance .

Today we honor and celebrate this symbol of our statehood, which preserves our historical traditions and reflects the spirit of the Ukrainian people. Let our national anthem always sound in the hearts of every Ukrainian, inspiring us to do important things, to struggle every day and to reach new heights.

We at ISTU wish you all a peaceful sky above your head, harmony and prosperity in Ukraine. Congratulations and don't forget:

"...our fortune-tellers will perish like dew in the sun!"
