Recently, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine stated that more than 15 million Ukrainians will need psychological support in the coming years as a result of the war, of which 3-4 million will need special attention. This war significantly affects the mental state of people, even those who seem to be permanently experiencing the consequences of war. Therefore, the issue of providing psychological support is currently extremely relevant, as evidenced by the National Program of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support of Ukrainians initiated by the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.

That is why the USAID Project "HOVERLA" supported an important initiative of the Association of Innovative and Digital Education, which contributes to the development of a system of providing psychological first aid in communities. As part of the Project, the Association teaches social workers, educators and representatives of local self-government bodies how to provide psychological first aid to community residents.

Providing psychological first aid is an urgent issue today, especially for those who suffer due to the severe events taking place in the country. That is why we draw attention to a course that will help civil servants and officials understand the organization of providing psychosocial assistance to those people who really need it, namely:

COURSE FOR OFFICIALS RESPONSIBLE FOR SOCIAL AND HUMANITARIAN ISSUES IN COMMUNITY "Organization of mental health services and psychosocial support in the community": https://bit.ly/3zGVv4g which aims to provide information on understanding the needs for mental health services in communities, the specifics of managing personnel who provide mental health services, quality control of the services provided, etc. During the course, participants will receive advice on implementing an integrated approach to addressing urgent mental health and psychosocial support issues in their communities.

The online course has been developed in accordance with the methodological materials of the Interagency Standing Committee on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Situations and will be aimed at achieving the requirements of the Minimum Standards for Education in Emergencies, Chronic Crises and Early Recovery (INEE Minimum Standards for Education in Emergencies, Chronic Crises and Early Reconstruction).

It should be noted that on March 30, 2023, the Academic Council of the Higher Education Institution "International Scientific and Technical University named after academician Yuriy Bugai" approved the Special training program "Organization of mental health and psychosocial support services in the community" (Excerpt from protocol 07/2223). Now, upon completion of this course, each graduate will receive a certificate indicating the amount of training as 1 ECTS credit.

The course is free to take and available to all citizens of Ukraine!
