The climate of our planet is experiencing great challenges, the global nature of which can be impressive. However, in reality, the impact of climate today is felt by literally everyone, and some factors only accelerate this process, the consequences of which can be catastrophic. No corner of the world is exempt from the effects of climate change. Therefore, at the present stage, the causes and consequences of climate change are becoming the object of careful study.

Are you interested?

Then ISTU invites you to a guest lecture by candidate of geographical sciences Vira Balabukh. She is a candidate of geographical sciences, head of the Department of Applied Meteorology and Climatology of the Ukrainian Research Hydrometeorological Institute, senior researcher.

Earlier, in one of her interviews, the expert remarked:

"Climate change is intensifying. They have an increasing impact on the environment...". She notes that the planet's climate system has undergone major changes in recent times.

That is why she will hold a lecture on the topic "What is climate?" Causes and consequences of climate change". The meeting will be of interest to anyone who:

  1. wants to better understand the problems of climate change and how they affect our modern life, and how we stimulate these changes;
  2. has a conscious attitude and wants to deepen his awareness of this issue;
  3. is aware of its active social position and influence on changes in the world, therefore wants to participate in building awareness of the Ukrainian public on climate issues.

The meeting will take place in a mixed format (room 300), in particular through an online meet-conference, you will receive an invitation after registering using the form: https://forms.gle/bhXSm1bXS2H5f2ei8.

Start time — March 20 at 11:30 a.m.

Earlier, Vira Oleksiivna Balabukh noted that there are a lot of urgent problems on Earth, which supposedly "relegate" climate issues to the background. However, you and I live in this world here and now, so it is up to us to decide whether we want to experience even greater climate changes ourselves.

See you!
