On April 28, 2021, the Department of Computer Sciences and Software Engineering of the ISTU organized an open online lecture for Master's students of the "Computer Sciences" educational program by the chief specialist of the department of administration, support of information systems, electronic registers and information protection of the Pension Fund of Ukraine Administration Abbasov R. E.
The lecture was devoted to issues of cyber security, information security and social engineering. During the event, the lecturer emphasized the types of cyber security threats. R. E. Abbasov paid special attention to systems of identification and authentication of users, authentication of electronic data, encryption of disk data, encryption of data transmitted over the network. The lecturer focused on means of managing cryptographic keys, security of working with wi-fi networks, data protection in social networks.
The highlight of the lecture was not only the meaningful and interesting theoretical material on the chosen topic, but also the lecturer's coverage of his practical experience. Students were particularly interested in the work of server equipment and cyber security tools of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. In addition, R. E. Abbasov constantly involved students in active participation in the lesson, using modern methodological techniques and incentives. Students had the opportunity to ask questions to the speaker, which contributed to a better understanding of the topic of the lecture.
